Keeping a national cricket community connected

Built on cricket, powered by community

Today, The Forty Club supports more than 2,300 members across England, Scotland and Wales, bringing people together through around 200 fixtures each season, overseas tours and regional competitions that have become a huge part of the club’s identity.

Since its foundation in 1936, the club has remained focused on creating opportunities through cricket, particularly through its long-standing relationships with schools and colleges across the UK.

For the volunteers supporting the club, maintaining that sense of connection and community across such a large organisation has always been a priority.

Enabling a smoother experience across the club

As The Forty Club continued to grow, creating more consistency across different regions and teams became increasingly important.

With so many fixtures, members and volunteers involved throughout the season, the club wanted to make things feel more connected and manageable for the people supporting it behind the scenes.

That shift has helped create a much smoother experience for both volunteers and members, while reducing some of the pressure that naturally builds across a large grassroots organisation.

Helping volunteers stay focused on the wider club community

With regional competitions, overseas tours and hundreds of fixtures taking place each year, communication and visibility are essential to helping the club operate smoothly.

The Forty Club has found it much easier to keep volunteers connected and ensure important information is accessible across the wider organisation, helping people feel more aligned throughout the season.

For a club with such a long history and wide-reaching membership, that consistency has helped strengthen the experience for everyone involved, from volunteers and organisers to players and touring members.

Supporting the future of the club

Like many grassroots organisations, The Forty Club is built on volunteers who care deeply about the future of the game and the community around it.

By creating clearer ways of working and reducing pressure behind the scenes, the club has been able to focus more energy on the things that matter most, bringing people together through cricket and continuing to build opportunities for future generations of players.

The Forty Club is continuing to grow its cricket community across the UK while staying true to the values that have shaped the club for generations.
