A club that has grown without losing its roots

Lewes Athletic Club began in 1984 with just a handful of members meeting in a car park.

Today, it supports around 100 members, balancing competitive athletics with a strong focus on inclusion and community. Events like the Downland 10 Mile Race and Easter Monday Fun Run remain central to what the club stands for.

As the club evolved, so did the need to support that activity in a way that felt manageable.

With Thrive4Grassroots in place, the club now has a much clearer view of its members and day-to-day activity.

Information is easier to access and doesn’t rely on being held by one person or stored in a single file. Committee members can find what they need when they need it, without delays or back-and-forth.

That visibility brings confidence. There’s less uncertainty around where information sits or whether it’s up to date.

Making it easier to stay connected with members

Communication is now more straightforward and consistent.

Instead of relying on manual email lists or individual messages, updates can be shared more easily with the right groups.

That means members receive information in a timely way, and the team spends less time repeating or following up.

Removing friction from joining and renewing

Joining the club and renewing membership is now a smoother process.

New members can register themselves, and existing members can manage their own details without needing everything to be handled manually.

This reduces delays and removes the need for forms to be passed around and re-entered. It also means information is more accurate from the start.

More consistency in how payments are managed

Payments are now handled in a way that feels more predictable and easier to stay on top of.

Instead of relying on cash, cheques and manual reconciliation, there is a clearer view of what has been paid and what still needs attention.

That consistency improves cash flow, but just as importantly, it removes the need for time-consuming checks and follow-ups.

Creating space to focus on the athletes

With fewer manual processes to manage, the team has more capacity to focus on coaching and supporting members.
